Event update – Chatsworth abandonedWe are devastated to announce that due to the last 12 hours of heavy rain on site, the 2024 Chatsworth International Horse Trials have sadly had to abandon.
“We are sorry for the disappointment and inconvenience this will cause,” said a statement from Chatsworth. “Our team has worked incredibly hard to organise the event, however the decision has been taken to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our athletes, visitors and horses, which is our number one priority.”
Rosie Williams, CEO for British Eventing, said: “We are so very sad for the team at Chatsworth. The work that has been done in the background to put this event on is extreme, and to have a huge downfall at this late stage is just unfair. We will work with them to recover from this disappointment.”
In response to the news, Belsay Horse Trials have agreed to take approximately 25 more entries in the 2*S, but entries would need to be submitted by Saturday, entries will re-open shortly. They are currently looking at whether they can accommodate any other entries in the classes. scheduled. More information will be shared on this as soon as possible.
There are also other BE events scheduled in May running Novice and Intermediate which are also still taking entries. Please visit the BE Fixture List to find out further information and make your entries.
