USEF Dressage Program Pathway

Please review the planned sessions and events for the USEF Dressage Program Pathway found on the 2023 USEF Dressage Program Calendar (subject to changes).

The USEF Dressage Program member lists are updated on a rolling basis with new combinations being added or being removed. To view each program membership list, please visit the USEF Dressage Program Pathway page. If you have any questions, please contact the USEF Dressage Department.

New for 2023 are the USEF Dressage Program Clinics. The USEF Dressage Program Clinics are a new educational opportunity for youth athletes, U25, and young horses through the Grand Prix level. The purpose of these clinics is to serve as talent scouting as an initiative of the Program Pathway. These clinics are taught by top U.S. coaches who are members of the USEF Dressage Coaches Support Network. For more information, including how to apply, please visit the USEF Website here.

Reminder: New Dressage Tests, Dressage Rule Changes, Presidential Modifications

The new dressage tests for 2023 from Introductory through Fourth Level, Developing Horse, and Freestyle are now available. These tests are effective as of December 1, 2022, and are replacing the 2019 tests. The new dressage tests can be found on the USDF website.

The 2023 USEF Dressage Rulebook is now available and can be found here. Among the major updates that are effective as of December 1, 2022, are the following:

DR120 Dress: Language has been added to clarify that coats and jackets with a discreet stretch/breathable panel in black or the same color as the garment are permitted.
DR121 Saddlery and Equipment: Brand marks or non-sponsor logos not exceeding 50 cm2 are permitted on saddle pads.
DR121 Saddlery and Equipment: The center link in a double-jointed snaffle must be smooth and curved on all surfaces as in a lozenge-shaped link. Dr. Bristol and French link bits are not allowed.

US Equestrian Dressage has also extended several COVID-19 Related Rule Modifications for the 2023 Competition year. The modifications initially made because of COVID-19 have proved beneficial for the discipline and improved competition operations for management, as well as competitors. These modifications will be in place until standard rule changes for the 2024 competition year can take effect. The full list of presidential modifications can be found here.
